WeMo 2.o

WeMo Foundations is the next generation of the WeMo core app. Through user interviews and activation data we found that most users own an average of 1-2 devices. It made little sense to decouple the control and scheduling elements of the devices as we had previously with the tab structure of "WeMo 1.0". We decided to group all possible interactions with a device into its "device drawer". This simplified the architecture and allowed for a much more rich experience with each device creating a deeper relationship with the user.

UI/UX Design Direction

Foundations adopted a "card" pattern that allowed us to create a more modular system of controls. This modular approach also assisted in an easier read and differentiation of groups of controls.
